Resources for Military Students & Families
Welcome to Southeast Lauderdale High School!
At Southeast Lauderdale High School, we proudly embrace our military community, recognizing the valuable contributions and unique needs of our students from military families. Our commitment is encapsulated this motto: "We will provide a safe environment where ALL are challenged, held accountable, guided, and nurtured."
As an educational institution, we strive for excellence. Our comprehensive curriculum enables students to explore foundational subjects while also providing opportunities for growth through Advanced Placement Courses, Dual Enrollment Classes, and Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.
Our dynamic and caring faculty, committed to creating an award-winning learning environment, works tirelessly to instill in each student a strong work ethic and a desire to succeed in EVERY aspect of life.
We extend a warm invitation to military families, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Explore the resources dedicated to military families below, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions. At Southeast Lauderdale High School, we're not just a school; we're a community that values and supports each and every student.
- The parent will Identify as Active Duty when registering at our school.
- The parent will fill out a form to meet with our School Military Point of Contact, Mrs. Rebecca Beard.
- The Counselor, Ms. Emily Gibson, will meet with the parents and the student to evaluate academic history and determine proper placement in classes.
- The student and family will tour the campus with a member of SEHS Leads.
- The counselor will check in with student weekly for the first few weeks to answer questions and help them find community.
Ms. Gibson will review academic records of the previous school and parents will be given the opportunity identify areas of particular importance to the success of the student. Students will be included, as needed, in enrichment or advanced classes . If necessary, students and parents will be included in academic interventions. Teachers and counselor will be available to meet to discuss any parental concerns.
The Lauderdale County Student Planning Tool will help determine credits that transfer from previous schools and provide options for graduation, CTE and dual enrollment.

The goal of our Exceptional Education Services is to inspire each student to become a productive member of society by becoming a problem solver and a life-long learner.
We offer extensive opportunities to each student in their least restrictive environment, so we are able to fulfill our mission as outlined in each eligible student's Individualized Education Plan.
