A new 12-week Sex Trafficking Course is being held at Southeast High School for Law and Public Safety courses. The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation in conjunction with the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department is conducting the course over the next twelve weeks, meeting once a week. Funding to combat sex-trafficking has been the result of grants applied for by the state, and has recently been renewed for another three years. This is an incredibly beneficial program on a topic that is sweeping the nation right now. The state and federal bureaus are focusing their efforts by offering the course in five high schools in the United States, and SHS was lucky enough to be chosen for the state of Mississippi. Students will learn from actual law enforcement officers, hear myths and facts, hear real world stories, and participate in conversations on the topic. We are so proud of Mr. Kenneth Watson and his program for being chosen for this tremendous opportunity.
