My Education & Experience
I have 28 years experience teaching math. After graduating from Jacksonville State University with a BS in secondary education, I taught at Clark County High School in Grove Hill, AL for five years. During these five years I earned my Masters Degree from the University of West Alabama. I moved to Meridian in 2000 and started teaching at the Lauderdale County alternative school, "Bonita Educational Center". After five years teaching at the alternative school, I transferred to Southeast Middle School. I spent 15 years teaching 8th grade math and Algebra at SEMS and then transferred to the high school. I currently teach Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and SREB Ready for College Math. I recently became an ACT Academic Educator in mathematics and I coach the SEHS Archery Team. I also teach part-time at Coastal Alabama Community College (Gilbertown branch).
I am married to Derek Barnes and have two sons, Will and John Cooper Boswell. I love the Southeast community and feel that this is where I belong. I have a love of mathematics and my goal is to pass this on to as many students as possible. Feel free to email me at [email protected].
